Gaiety – advertisment

Design is always about solving a problem. Sometimes they are big and sometimes they are small. Here, the Gaiety wanted to show the people of Ayr what the new theatre was going to look like however the refurbishment was slightly behind schedule and it wasn’t possible to photograph the new auditorium before going to press. There was only a passing shot with all the scaffolding. My solution was to take that shot and make it lively and entertaining by covering it (even more) with a conversation between two workmen just before clearing away the scaffolding… This way you would sneak a peak at the scale of the auditorium and learn about all the new features and still have to visit to see for yourself.
